On August 29th, the Huizhou RCEP Service Center was unveiled and put into use at the Zhongkai High tech Zone Administrative Service Center. Li Junling, Deputy Mayor of Huizhou City, attended the ceremony and unveiled the plaque for the RCEP Service Center.
It is reported that RCEP, also known as the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership, is currently the world's largest free trade agreement in terms of population, economic and trade scale, and development potential. It includes China, ten ASEAN countries (Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam), as well as 15 member countries including Japan, South Korea, Australia, and New Zealand.
Since the official implementation of RCEP in 2022, Huizhou has continuously strengthened policy promotion on RCEP tariff preferences and cumulative rules of origin, promoting foreign trade enterprises to better grasp the opportunities of RCEP policy implementation and continuously expanding economic and trade cooperation with RCEP member countries.
Data shows that in 2022 and 2023, the import and export volume of Huizhou to RCEP countries reached 88.79 billion yuan and 97.93 billion yuan, respectively, an increase of 10.7% and 10.2% year-on-year. From January to July this year, Huizhou achieved a total import and export volume of 222.4 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.8%, ranking fifth in the province in terms of total volume, fifth in terms of growth rate, and second in the Pearl River Delta. Among them, the import and export volume of Huizhou to RCEP countries reached 61.01 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.6%, accounting for nearly 30% of the city's total foreign trade import and export volume.
The Huizhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Huizhou Customs, Huizhou Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Zhongkai High tech Zone Management Committee jointly signed a memorandum of cooperation on jointly building the Huizhou RCEP Service Center, and established the Huizhou RCEP Service Center in Zhongkai High tech Zone. In the future, as a RCEP public service platform, the service center will provide "one-stop" public services such as policy consultation and interpretation, publicity and training promotion, trade and investment promotion, and foreign-related legal support for foreign trade enterprises in Huizhou, striving to become a provincial-level RCEP enterprise service center and a demonstration window for Huizhou to face RCEP.
On the morning of that day, the Huizhou RCEP Policy Promotion Conference was held at the Party and Mass Service Center of Zhongkai High tech Zone, with about 100 foreign trade enterprises participating in the event.
